I've always loved creativity - for the past fifteen years I've been running Creative Writing, Art, and general English workshops / tutorials for school-age students. It's amazing to see students gaining confidence in expressing themselves because they're excited about their own ideas. More recently, I've also had some experience with helping adults to fine-tune their powers of expression through editing, proofreading and copywriting of various projects such as book manuscripts, website blurbs and so forth.
I'm forever grateful to the humble West Auckland community that I grew up in for nurturing my love of writing and art - the fun experiences of learning at primary school eventually led me down the path of completing a Master's degree in Creative Writing at the University of Auckland (convened by Witi Ihimaera at the time) and to self-employment in a niche that I love. I've also been able to write and self-publish several books, and this had been a dream since I was young. For this reason, I'm passionate about local communities that encourage people of every age to get excited about their own creative capacity, whatever that looks like.
These days, some of my work is done online via email and / or video-call, and some in person via workshops at local venues. I'm based in Northland now, enjoying the excellent lifestyle up here while continuing to write and teach.
